Having an issue with my front BR a/c. Went camping last weekend on Friday and all was well. Saturday evening(after about 28hrs of running) my a/c began dripping heavily on my bed. Turned it off the remainder of the trip. Turned it on yesterday under its shed and ran fine all day and night. This morning when I went in to check it out there was water in the pan I had placed on the bed. Any ideas? It is "peeing" on the roof as water was steady dripping out of the gutter extensions both times. A/c is cooling good. Any replies would be greatly appreciated. Unit is just over 2 years old and would also like to know if it would be covered on my dealership extended service plan. Steve
sounds like the pan either has a hole in it or, partially clogged hole, so that pan is over flowing...... maybe pull off cover and take a look...... I've had good luck with my extended warranty, can't seem to get that pesky $100 deductible waived
Greg is right. When AC's do their jobs they also condense the water in the air and it needs to go somewhere so it sounds as though it may have a blockage somewhere.
I've had the exact same problem with mine. I inspected the AC unit and found no clogs anywhere. It was cooling just fine. It was however very hot out and somewhat humid. This past outting it wasn't as hot or humid. AC unit cooled fine and no drips. So, if you or anyone can answer your question, I to would like to know an answer.
I had the same problem with my Dometic brisk air II. It had a freon leak, so the evaporator was icing up due to low pressure. As it thawed out it would leak. When it does that, remove the intake air filter and see if there is ice behind it on the evaporator.
Will have someone check out the partial clog., That really sounds like the issue since it takes about 24/36 hrs for it to begin leaking. Just a matter of getting someone to get up there to ck it out. Thanks all. Steve
Still waiting on nephew to have a day off when I am home. Looked on Dometic web site for diagram/pic of where drain line(s) are so at least nephew will know what and where to look. Could not find any helpful pics. If anyone on here has any helpful images I would greatly appreciate posting or PM them to me. Spoke to a friend of mine that is maintenance man/host at a Gulf Shores campground and he watched an rv repairman last week clear a problem for one of his guest. Not sure what brand a/c it was but it had 2 drain lines?? Go figure.
Had the unit checked out the end of last week and found no clogs or issues. Will take it to dealer next week and have them do a thorough check. Thanks for all the replies. Steve A. Dagro
