AC BTU question

Good evening, I have a 30' Rockwood 2604 with a 15000 BTU AC unit . I am looking at a 27' 5th wheel that has a 13500 BTU AC unit. Is this big enough ? My 15K runs cold as ice . The reason I'm looking at 5th wheel is so I can tow my camper and boat at same time and can't do theat with my bumper pull I'm told. Love myn2604 just don't want to take to trucks when camping. I can't answer that question, but it is unlikely that you will find a 5er with a frame strong enough to allow you to tow something behind it.

Unless you're going to upgrade your truck as well, that 1500, if it can handle a 5er at all, will only handle an Ultra-Lite which has a very weak frame.

Seeing you're from Georgia I'd definitely go with the 15K AC.

as far as i know, any newer 27' 5th wheel will have an ultralight frame, which attempting to tow a boat with, will void the frame's warranty and possibly the trailer's warranty if any flexing causes issues with the walls/roof.

maybe an older 27' 5th wheel might not be an ultralight but without knowing the year/make/model, can't say for sure.

I agree with bikendan about towing being a reason, but the A/C the bigger the better.....

The 13.5 A/C works well for me in the north/east where I only need it a few weekends out of the year but in the south I'd go with 15k.

I agree with the others on the towing. Georgia is one of only a few states that allow non-commercial tandem trailers and I don't believe the frame especially on an ultra lite is made for towing.
