Ac trips breaker

Have 2014 Wildwood 31QBTS When the AC is on the breaker trips if you the microwave. Also the wall circuits in the master bedroom AC and microwave are on the same breaker. Is this correct?

Trailer was wired with 30 Amp Service plug from factory and dealer.. Does it need to be upgraded to a 50 Amp plug and if so will all the wires need to be changed?

Looks like you have 30A service. You can not run AC and microwave at same time ( keep in mind other things are running converter, fridge control etc) AC will trip breaker at start up.

As Flybob stated above, you may have to practice energy maanagement when on 30 amp power supplies. You will learn what you can have on at the same time (as well as what must be turned off).

That is not correct IMO. You should have a separate breaker for your A/C 20 amp, Another 20 amp for the microwave and a 15 amp that go's to a GFCI for your 115v sockets. You still need to watch what you use when you have the A/C on as people stated But if I'm following you right your missing two breakers. Also yes you would need to upgrade all your wire to go from 30 amp to 50 amp. From the cord to the wall connector to the convertor and maybe even the convertor.

I suspect it's his main 30a breaker that's tripping, not one for the A/C, etc. That would explain when other service is OUT when the breaker trips.

So, I need to know WHICH breaker is tripping when using both the AC and the microwave.

If it is the MAIN; it is indeed a "total amps used" issue.

If it is the Microwave, then there could be a problem with the microwave or a low campground voltage issue.

Same with the Air Conditioner. If the Air Conditioner breaker alone is tripping, you most likely have low voltage from the campground. Since the Air Conditioner's motors need "Watts" to turn over, low voltage will require more amps than normal to start up.

P (in Watts) = E (in Volts) times I (in Amps).

An Air Conditioner that needs 1800 Watts at 120 volts "to run" needs a constant 15 amps to do it. During startup, that same Air Conditioner could need a momentary amp blast of 20-22 amps (normally not long enough to trip the breaker).

Now drop the voltage to 110 volts. The Air Conditioner still needs 1800 Watts to run, so it will draw 16.4 amps now. That Start Up draw of 20 amps at 120 volts now becomes almost 22 amps and if it needs 22 amps it becomes 24 amps. That may be enough to trip that breaker.

A hard start capacitor can help by lowering the need for these momentary peak amps and your AC will start without tripping the breaker.

I have seen campground voltages below 105 volts during 100 degree weather when the campground feeds are aluminum wire.

As to your second question, your camper will need to be completely rewired to include a new power center and all new feed wires rated for 50 amps on each leg including the new one.

You could be right that makes sense to me except the way the OP explained it as the A/C Mico and Bedroom circuit. I would think he would say the whole 110v circuit or I loose all power. Maybe he will set us straight on what he means. Very confusing but yours makes sense from your interpretation.
