AC unit vibrating like crazy.

I have read several posts on this problem and it seems mud wasps are a problem with building nests and causing a wobble. We can see the squirrel cage inside wobble. On high it was terrible almost shaking the entire camper. It didn't do this a week ago when we got our camper out of my barn. Now on high it is bearable but on low it is loud. When you grab the squirrel cage it will slide toward the prop fans about a 1/4 inch. That is shaft and all. Is that normal? We are going to pull the cover off the roof tonight and see if a wasp may have made a nest on the AC fans. Any other suggestions would be great. We are leaving Friday for winefest at Watkins Glen race track and we need the AC. It is a dometic AC.

It happened to mine and the fan broke... I epoxied mine and it stayed till a storm took it.

The shaft moving? Worn motor in some way. I wouldn't worry till it quits...once you get the shake out.

Hold up. You mean the fan moves on the shaft? If so the clamp must have came off/broke. If so... I am sure a new fan is in order. I think they are like $15.

Thanks, I will know more tonight after we take the cover off. Kind of upsets me the AC hasn't run for probably 12 hours total in 2 years but it might be something dumb.
