Adding a 2nd AC- considering a 12v ?

My one AC is inefficient for my 28’ class A. I have limited roof space( one solar panel and Dish dome up there already.) I was just reading about the Rec Pro 12v AC and it looked impressive. They aren’t cheap but I like the idea of using it while boondocking, driving without having to run the generator for my other AC and running it for my dogs. Hoping for a simpler installation since non-ducted, no heat works for me. Has anyone done this or have recommendations for me?

Be sure you understand the DC power consumption. The startup current is ~100 amps and the running current is ~80 amps.

Power: 12V
Current: ~80 AMP
Maximum Amp Draw: 100 Amps
Startup Amp Draw: 100Amps
Wattage: ~950-1100 depending on ambient temperature

What is your battery capacity and type?

I just spoke with my rv service tech who explained how I would need to run a very large cable down the wall and add a couple more batteries. Not inexpensive to do.

Yes, a very large cable.......about the size of one's thumb. And this would be 2 cables, one for Positive and one for Negative from the batteries (plural) to the AC unit.

My comment.......it isn't practical for a multitude of reasons.

And I'd bet that it would not cool down that 28' before the battery is dead with it pulling 80Amps.

Not practical at all. Not to even mention the trailer trash looks!
