Air conditioner and 4 bolts the holds it on.

My Sierra is 6 years old now and never checked the mounting bolts for the air conditioners. Dominic manual says torque to 40-50 inch pounds. So does the company(camco) that makes the gaskets. I Never owned an inch pound torque wrench so got one. I see a lot of folks saying to hand tighten(with a hand held driver) I guess. Then turn 1/4 turn more. I’m here to tell you that that is like only 10 inch pounds. I had to keep tightening mine for quite a while (in a cross pattern) and I was hearing some noises in there. [emoji849]. I am one to ask the manufacturer and try to follow the specs as instructed. I was shocked at how much tighter I had to make it just to get to 35 inch pounds. The reason for my post is I wanted to see if anybody else has any experience with this or any comments. I also called and talk to an RV technician and they said the bolts are loose a lot of the time from factory but they don’t leak right away but alot are more loose than they should be. I just felt uncomfortable tightening them that much after all I have read from people on not over tightening them.

If it was not leaking, I would not tighten it that much.
