Aspen trailer electric hot water heater

We have tried everything for the electric hot water heater to kick to in and can't figure out why it will not heat up the propane works . Any ideas?

murphy, do you know what brand water heater you have (Forest River uses different brands/models)? Also is there an inside switch for the electric heating element?

This thread may help too, if you perhaps have the Suburban SWDE or SWDEL model.

If you are operating it correct, and the heating element is not burned out...you may want to access the rear of the water heater to verify it's even plugged in. We have simply seen many water heaters shipped from the factory, and they are not plugged into an outlet, and the dealer failed to check. Also check the circuit breaker in the RV's electrical distribution panel to make sure the CB is on or not tripped to the water heater. This circuit breaker only affects the electric heating element.

Also, you are plugged into a form of 120 volt AC shore power, correct? The electric heating element ONLY works off of 120 volt AC power.... where the propane uses propane and 12 volt DC battery power.
