Cable hook up at campground

Help!!! I just bought a 2015 surveyor cadet 294. None of my connections seem to work. I have to connections outside simply marked cable/satellite. Inside I have connections labelled satellite and tv 1, and then a sat 1 and sat2. I've tried both connections outside and all inside and nothing. I'm losing my mind!

The factory has been known to mis-wire the inside plate. Try cable outside and then connect to satellite inside. If it works, pop off the inside plate and switch the coax.

I connected to cable outside and tried all inside connections. Then outside sat and all inside connections and still nothing. Changed tv input from air to cable and still no dice. I guess tomorrow when it's not freezing I'll take apart some stuff and chase wires.

And, just to make sure- was your antennae booster off?

And finally- have you tested the campground's cable connection directly with just a wire and a TV?

The booster is not just a signal amplifier, its a switch that selects between the rooftop antenna and the sidewall cable connection in order to route either signal via a single cable to the TV. The green light must be off to use the sidewall cable input. And, yes, a channel rescan on the TV will probably be necessary too.

At first the switch was on, then after researching I turned it off but it made no difference. I've not tried connecting directly to the tv. I will later today.

Also check the TV set up for input such as HD1 etc.

Direct tv told us that satellite dishes won't work through splitters in campers. cable needs to run direct to tv. we had to do this on the 5th wheel we had.

Bill, I did try both connections at the switch and nothing. I have not verified if the cg connection even works. We are just now coming in on the train from the Grand Canyon. I'll see what I can find out a little later. Don't want to miss the Walking Dead!

Cable Hook Up At Campground

You need to connect the Campground cable to the Cable connection and then make sure your Antenna Amplifier is turned off inside. the run a TV channel scan on your TV to get the available channels.

Sorry for the late reply, been on the road. Finally got it to work. Issue was I have a universal directv remote. I could access the menu but not make selections. Once I figured out how to do that with the tv buttons I ran the channel search and all was good. Trouble is the new campground in Las Vegas doesn't have cable hook ups!
