Can I hook both roof a/c to one thermostat?

I have 2 roof a/c. Each one is hooked to its own thermostat and the thermostats sit side by side. I would like to get a single microair thermostat and hook both a/c to it. Figure it should be easy to y the correct connectors so the a/c units come on at the same time. Am I nuts? Here are the current thermostats.

Technically yes since you are just triggering relays with a t-stat, but the real question is why? You will be using power than needed when one unit will do the job. Possible short cycling the units because of over cooling (like having a home unit that is oversized), etc

I decided not to do it. I can't run one a/c off the generator if I hook both up to the same thermostat. I just moved the one thermostat for the bedroom into the bedroom. Baffles me why they had them both in the kitchen.

Both in the same room is strange. Glad you were able to move the one to make it more useful.

It would have taken quite a bit of power to fire off both compressors and fans at the same time. Probably tripping your main breaker. . . Unless you arranged for some type of
a start delay on one of the units.

My stepfather added a wing to the house with separate heating and the installers put both thermostats and ducts from both thermostats in the living room. In the winter, the kids' rooms were always very cold. If we raised the thermostat, the master bedroom didn't heat and we caught heck.
