Lightbulb Can you add a 12v fan in the freezer to aid cooling?

Can you add a 12v fan in the freezer to aid cooling? or doesn't it make a difference?

so two questions

1. can you drill a hole into the back of the freezer compartment to get 12v to the fan? IF YES, where?

2. can you screw into the back of the freezer to mount your 12v fan? IF YES, where?

I already added a fan to the refrigerator compartment and it has worked great ... so it got my thinking.

It will not really make a difference, even if you could find one that would operate at 10 degrees or so. You probably freeze the bearings in the motor up.

Not sure if you can (easily) do that, but in the case of the fridge fan, I think the biggest benefit is that the air circulation keeps the ice and condensation off the fins, which then allows the fridge to cool better. The increased air movement is kind of a secondary benefit as far as cooling.

In the freezer (at least in ours) there is no drain, so even if you move the air, ice crystals will still form someplace in the freezer and it will need to be defrosted. In our little freezer, everything stays frozen, just get ice buildup that has to be defrosted after a couple weeks of continuous use.
