I have a 2009 41' Cherokee wolfpack toyhauler 396 wp. The ceiling fan quit working after about a week of using it, so I bought another switch because the other one was burned up. Have had the new switch in about 3 weeks now and the fan keeps shutting off and the switch is warm to the touch. Has anyone else had this problem. Thanks in advance for any help.
I have not had this problem but I think you either have an issue with wiring or an issue with the fan.
Switch should never be hot to the touch .
Is it a 110v fan or a 12v ?
It would be nice if you could pull switch out and beg borrow or buy an amp meter and see what that units pulling for amps !
I would discontinue using it to you find the problem .
That fan uses a variable resistance bridge to drop the voltage to the fan.
When using speeds "other than fast," the voltage is dropped across a high wattage resistor. That resistance gets hot. At "LOW" it gets very hot.
I never use the fan except on high speed. Many cases of the switch burning out and a few burning up!
