Decision time - what backup camera
Hi all - we've been intending to add a back up camera to our TT for a while but just haven't gotten around to it. Over that time I've looked at plenty of "which camera" threads and I book marked a few on Amazon for future reference. The list below is the three I down selected to and since I started the list a year or so back, maybe some of you have bought & used one of them. I'm looking for feedback on these three cameras in particular but if somebody feels they have a runaway winner, I'll certainly look at that also.
Here's my list
HaloView 7" MC7108
Yuwei (?) 7"
FHD 1080P 7" This one has 2 cameras which is not really something I need but it also says it's prewired for a Furion connection (which I have). It also metions DVR in the title but I don't really see a DVR (which I take to mean a recorder) in the specs.
As always, thanks in advance for your thoughts on this!

I have a different system, on my TT, that has the 7" monitor. I wouldn't have any system with a smaller monitor.

I'm with you on that. I've seen smaller (5" I think) screens in friends RV's and I really don't think you can see well enough to be safe.

I have the Haloview MC7108. It is a real good system. I have not had any issues but I have not had that much travel time with this COVID 19 stuff.

I have the Haloview MC7108 that I got for Christmas installed but with all the madness in the world I haven't had the chance to actually use it in the field yet. I got the Furrion adapter bracket and wire which made it a pretty easy install.

I just bought and installed the HaloView you refer to, after looking at others including the Furrion. Installation with the Furrion mount adaptor was easy. Although it's new, the performance thus far is excellent. I would buy it again. Happy travels!

Thanks all, I appreciate the replies. There are quite a few who have the Halo MC7108. That system is 720P while the others are 1080P. Do you think the clarity/sharpness of the 720P system is what you expected?

One more question based on the different specs - can anyone state if a 150 degree camera is more distorted than a 120 degree version?

Angle distortion would have more to do with the camera quality that the degrees of vision. We have four cameras, not suited to your application, that are 170 degree views. That is nearly bumper corner to bumper corner. There is no noticeable distortion in any of them. You want to get the widest angle possible.
Also, in your original post, you made reference to a backup camera. For towing, you want a rear vision camera when ordering. The wiring is done differently.

I just put in a Haloview MC7108. The display is a lot clearer than my old Furrion. However, I find the 7" monitor to be overly large and I think I would be happier with a 5".
If you I ntend to put an SD card in the Haloview, get a speed class 3 or higher model. The slower ones don't work well.
On a 1000+ mile trip, it worked flawlessly. On my Flagstaff 26FKWS, I am not using an extener. Connection to camera is stable.

Furrion now on second TV/Trailer combo. 32 foot trailer now. Going on 3 years. Never a hiccup in picture. I leave camera on full time while towing. Keep an eye on those tail haters......ughhh.
More money than I would like to spend. But works!
Good luck.

I ordered the Haloview MC7108 camera but Amazon has been sold out of the Furrion adapter bracket for a week and it’s $30 to ship it from Haloview. Has anyone installed it without the adapter bracket? Will I end up needing to drill 4 new holes without it?

A 1080p with a poor signal will be eclipsed by a 360p with a rock-solid signal.
Our Haloview's 720p resolution is plenty sharp/clear for our use. Remember, the resolution on a 60" monitor will be much more noticeable than on a 7" monitor.

I have the Furrion observation camera. Furrion has 2 cameras, the more expensive one works while driving down road.

Yep, same here. Been hunting on Google for another source. I found one but can’t guarantee it’s the right part. Find out when I get it Monday. Hey

OK, first thanks to all for the info and suggestions. I guess I went the contrarian route - I've ordered the FHD (I guess it's actually the Amtifa brand). I read all the reviews I could find, read the spec sheets and went with the Amtifa. Specs wise, they were pretty evenly matched but the Amtifa swayed me on price and I did decide that having the 2nd camera wasn't a bad thing (if I would have wanted to add one in the future it would have been about $70 vs $50 getting it now.
Should be here Saturday so we'll see how it works out. I'll post back up after our upcoming camping trip (YES, they are opening up the CG's in California!!!)

Following - as I am in the market also. I have the Furrion observation camera as my trailer came prewired for it and it was good while it worked. Problem is dirt/dust/pollen had gotten on the inside of the lens (which i was told should be sealed) making it impossible to use as the picture is blurred by the dirty lens. This happened sometime in the fall/winter between my last trip of the season and the first of the next. At the time I was maybe a month out of warranty and Furrion told me (within their right) to kick rocks and they weren't going to help me (I even asked if I could just purchase a new camera and they told me I'd have to replace the whole system), so I'll be buying something else this time around. Just sharing as you might want to consider the support of the company as a factor, and also it might be prudent to remove the camera for the winter months if your going to park it.

I'm pretty sold on the Haloview, looking at a rear camera with the side cameras. The one question I have is about using it as a security camera when parked. I'm assuming you just move the screen from the TV in to the camper. Has anyone setup/added an entry camera to be able to see who's at your door? Not sure if the System can take 4 video inputs.
