dish satellites are in the southern hemisphere .... just by moving your dish is like resetting it....it finds the satellites auto.....there is no pointing anywhere....but you do need an unobstructed sky.

Tailgater handle should be pointing North according to the tech people @ Dish.

Pointing and Clear View

We don't have any reason to watch 2 TV's and I can probably figure out something myself to mount it on the roof.
No problem, very glad if I helped. I have had to set up and try to find satellites 2-3 times in some of the more densely wooded sites when there was a tree above the TT excluding the roof location. I think their sales description of "pointed south" is misleading as the Tailgater antenna (and some others) rotates inside the case to whatever direction is needed when locking onto the signal. Just make you have a clear view between the sky area you need and your satellite; that it is open and not obstructed by another RV or too many large trees. Also, pick up an inexpensive compass so you can insure you are really looking the direction you think you are; easy to be off if you have wound around camp roads or arrived after dark. I have been off by 45 degrees from where I though I was looking because of that!

From what I understand, the Tailgater inside mechanism will not rotate 360°, but I don't know for sure as I've not taken the cover off.

Here is a screen shot from my phone using the "Dish for my RV" app. Just point it at the sky and it finds where the satellites are and if there are any obstructions concerning line of sight. I use it all the time. I'm sitting at my desk at work, and the image is of the ceiling.

BombDoc, I don't see a Google Play app by that name. I see Dish Anywhere, and some others. What is the exact name as this looks like a really handy app to have.

Yes twice.
We'll technically not mine but the bosses.
Mine hasn't been apart yet.

My handle is facing south right now because I do what I want. [emoji12] [emoji106]

When you connect the coax, and power it up you can hear the dish rotating inside during set up. Also, Dish thinks it rotates, or states as much in the Owner's Manual. There is no mention of having to turn it any particular way, only that it needs a clear view of the southern sky. I am NOT taking mine apart, just saying...

Ah ha! That would explain why I didn't see it in the Google Play store. I am one of those "android" users. TURBS gave me a good app name, so I am good.
