Dometic/ Coleman

Does anyone know if Coleman has a direct replacement for a Dometic 13.5 AC with heat pump ducted?

You really need to obtain outline and detail drawings for comparison. The units will bolt to the same opening but duct connections, thermostat wiring and power wiring size and location may be different. Sure it can be done but you should check difficulty And costs.

FWIW. Supposedly after July of this year... Dometic had the problems corrected. I read it on their website I think.

The units will physically fit the openings. If you have an older Dometic with the 6-wire thermostat, it's pretty easy to replace the Dometic with a Coleman. However, if you have a newer unit with the digital thermostat, it only uses 3 wires, so in order to replace it with a Coleman unit, you'll need to run new thermostat wiring. That may or may not be a big job. It all depends on how it's routed.

Mine is a Penguin. It has a single zone LCD thermo. It is also a three wire. I've replaced the control board and the thermostat. Per Dometic. After that they told me to replace unit. I'll try not to buy a Dometic of I can keep from it. I believe the problem is in the reverse valve for the heat pump. The MH Sat fit Ayr and a half before i bought it. I wish there was something else I could try. It's a 2012 Lexington. Thanks for the info. Can you tell me where to look on Dometic web site for that info

Thanks IWANNACAMP. I read the info. It doesn't match the year I have. However, maybe they had the same problem when mine was manufactured.

I know there is a newer paper somewhere. I can't remember if I E-mailed them or found it on the Internet or read it here, but I know I wasn't drunk(that day). I didn't find it on my personal email, so it might have been work email....sad news is it crashed a few weeks ago and I lost older emails. My memory tells me July 6, 2016. That could be alcohol induced. I dunno. I just know I felt better in ordering new unit. I also kept 13,500 unit and added another one. I WAS that scared...then it came with Coleman. Go figure.

JK I drink very little, but talk about it a lot.
