Dometic DuoTherm AC problem

My Dometic DuoTherm air conditioner has an issue that my dad thinks is probably the pc board. Compressor works but fan is not running. He says there is no power going to the fan. He measured with his multimeter to see where power was going or not going. Capacitor is good.

I called Dometic and they said that based on my model number, the PC board is analog and that those parts are no longer available. I have to buy a new AC.

Is this true? Do I have any other options?

Thanks a ton in advance

If Dometic says the part is discontinued it's probably true.

If you remove the "pc board" it should have a p/n. With this number fo a search for "dometic a/c analog circuit board. There will be numerous results and now it's just a matter of finding one that has matching number. If board doesn't have a prominent number look for one on the box that houses the board or a model number for A/C unit (often on a sticker inside the air intake plenum). Sometimes the whole control box is all that's available but most are <$100.

Amazon even shows them.

Good luck.

PS: If no power to fan, check for power at the "line" side of the fan relay as well as power at the coil terminals of the fan relay on the pc board when fan is supposed to be on.

If no power at coil or line side, board itself is probably bad. If power is present at coil terminals and at line side the relay-, the relay itself is bad. One can often find a replacement relay online and if your de-soldering/soldering skills are good, replacing the relay could solve the issue.

Often the p/n on the relay will lead to an exact replacement.

The PC board number is 3106996.030. I have searched Ebay, amazon, just plain google and have been unable to find anything. Any other ideas? I am going to give Dinosaur Electronics a call but I am not holding my breath they can help.

Thanks for your suggestions. It was nice to have a place to start.

RV junk yards may be able to help

I've found that more often than not, a relay is the faulty component on a circuit board for microwaves and AC units. Next would be electrolytic capacitors. Look on the board for a swollen capacitor.
