Dometic Fridge DMR702 - Broken Trim/Flange/Gasket

Not sure what this part is called but it is the vertical piece that the door latch catches on to keep the door closed. It looks like a small notch is broken off. Any idea what this part is? I知 guessing it is some kind of trim kit. It looks like it would be an easy fix . Click image for larger version

Aqualight, wondering if you have any other information about the trim piece on your fridge? I have the same issue and would like to repair asap. I'm concerned that the refrigerator door is going to pop open when traveling.

Mine just broke yesterday and I am also having trouble finding a replacement. However, while examining the part, it occurred to me that the right and left trim pieces appear identical and I should be able to swap them (until it breaks again ).

I just heard back from Dometic. My fridge is a DMR702 with a product number of 936000768 (there is a sticker inside the fridge).
The trim part is 3851516017 "front frame profile" and is the same part for both the right or left side. This is the trim piece with the plastic lip that the door latch catches on. Google searches for that part are coming up empty so I'll have to try ordering one from my RV dealer.

Okay, so Dometic sent me a DMR702LB parts manual, which is what I posted above. In working with my dealer, they have a current DMR702 manual which indicates the trim piece is part number 385151601.
Both the DMR702 and DMR702LB have the same product number, so I'm not sure what, if any, difference there is in the two trim part numbers. Color perhaps?

Great. Thanks for the update. Did you order a trim piece? Looks like you have 2 numbers for the same part.

It's been a while since i did it, but I'll try my best to remember. I think you first have to remove the top and bottom trim pieces. You'll have to open the doors to access and unscrew the brackets holding those in. Then I think it was just a matter of sliding/prying the side piece left or right (outwards sideways).
I had a harder time getting the new piece in. I had to remove the fridge mounting screws and pull the fridge out very slightly. Those screws are visible at the bottom with the door open and also revealed at the top when you removed the top trim piece.

I guess it's my turn now for this problem. My fridge trim piece looks identical to the pics that Aqualight posted. Fridge door won't latch.

Does anyone have a line on where to get part # 385151601 or 3851516017? I have seen them listed both ways, but no luck finding one in stock yet and Dometic is back-ordered on the part #.

As a last resort, I may switch sides of the plastic trim pieces but want to do a little more searching first.

Thanks to all....

Latest update I have is for a repair that has lasted a couple of years.
I used a piece of a plastic corner protector,(like you might use to protect a drywall corner in your home) cut to size and Gorilla Crazy Glue Gell to glue in place.
I cut the piece to size, enough to fit the busted out area. I then cut the corner protector to have a small portion of the of the 90ー bend overlap the inside of the busted out area. This serves as the "catch" to the refrigerator handle.
**I used plenty of glue to make sure the entire repair piece surface was well covered to ensure a good bond.

Short of getting a new trim piece, this has worked well. Click image for larger version

Thanks RockyRoo,
I too have thought about how I might fix the problem so the door latches. Either by doing something similar to what you did, switching the left side to the right and vice-versa or by preferably getting a new trim piece. Still looking for a replacement trim piece, which would be my first preference at this point. Hopeful someone might know of a source for Dometic parts other than Dometic.
Thanks again.

2021 keystone hideout

Hey guys I知 looking for some guidance on how to get my electric refrigerator back over the board that holds it in place on the floor. We hit a bump and it somehow came over the top and almost ripped the trim off the front. Any ideas on how to get the wheels back behind the board?

Called Dometic back and found that they had the part # (3851516017) in stock at a different warehouse in WA. It just arrived and I just finished installing it. The trick is pulling the fridge out a couple of inches. Once I did that, I was able to snap the edge clip of the trim piece on starting at the top and working my way down. Door latches again...

DMR702 Parts List

Just received a parts list for the DMR702 Fridge from Dometic that has much better resolution than the one previously received. Good info for anyone with a similar model refrigerator.
