Dometic fridge wide temp swings

We have a one year old dometic 2652 two way fridge. It is not lacking in the cooling department. If you select the coldest on the panel, you get fridge cabinet temps sub freezing (sometimes in the high 20's). Problem is that it can swing into the high 40's and even hit 50 degrees at one point. There are only three temp settings available. No one selection creates a satisfactory result. Sounding like goldilocks but it is either too warm or two cold. I have installed a set of fans on the inside attached to the cooling fins to help circulate air better. I also installed two computer squirrel cage fans on the back to help with convective flow through the roof. Is there anything else I can do to tighten the parameters? I know it will cool, it just seems like there is a set point that needs to be adjusted but I have no idea how. There is no apparent thermistor inside like on the old designs. I have gone through the owners manual and even downloaded a service manual with no insight.

Anyone have fresh ideas?

I'm with ya Sc00ter. I have a 2852 model. Just today I went from 35 degrees to 50 empty. Headed on a trip. half afraid to use it. Have had this 5er less then a year. This is second time using it. Did same thing on a trip to Florida with high temps. outside. Told dealership about it. Of coarse they found nothing to be wrong. Except when they checked it, it was not 85 out. More like 55. I'm up for some suggestions with this issue myself

My model is the set it forget it type. I had one other fridge like this. HATED IT too! Three manual setting types. NEVER had a problem. What is so frustrating to me is.The he said she said type of deal with dealerships. How do you dispute their findings. Same here. I'm going to try different things. Been reading post here and elsewhere. A lot of ideas. Just shouldn't have to. GOOD LUCK!

Made two realizations today. First, it would appear the thermistor is in the light assembly at the very top rather than attached to the fins like on my last camper. I tried aiming the fans inside away from it. Second, there is a large plastic baffle wrapped around the cooling fins I can only assume is cosmetic or keeps things from contacting the fins. Either way, it restricts some of the air flow. I removed it today and will see what if any effect that has on air movement. I also wonder about the similar plastic covers on each shelf. Most fridges I see have only wire racks which restrict the air very little. All of my shelves are covered with this plastic that has only tiny holes. They may have to go next.

We have a Rockwood 2304, and I would like to know how to adjust the temperature in our dometic fridge? The freezer doesn't keep ice cream cold enough.
Our previous Dutchman Kodiak hybrid had a dometic that had a temperature control switch on the door. This one doesn't.

Ours has a three position button on the front. Hi, med, and low. So far that is the only temp adjustment I have found. Does it make a difference on yours if running on gas vs electricity? Our old fridge (norcold) had a adjustment from 1 to 10 and had an adjustable temp sensor that in the fridge compartment that gave even more temp range.

Curious. Is your fridge located in a slide? Mine is. I think just not enough air flow behind. (reading other post too) Just spit balling here. When vented out the roof, I think the air escapes better. When going out the side though a vent. The heat roles around in the cavity at the top. I'm getting frost on the back of the inside of the freezer. thinking the air is pretty warm behind causing it to condensate and refreeze in the back. Back to your original post. I checked mine first thing this morning. 35 degrees. I know by this afternoon (heat of day) it will be back to 50. For this trip I told my wife. I'm putting some freezer bags of ice through out the fridge. hoping to help it along.

Blowing out, that's the top fan.

No settings on ours. There is a sensor, or prob (?) attached to the cooling fin inside the fridge. I slid it up from the bottom to the center and that seems to have made a difference.
How to adjust the temperature would be a most welcome addition to the limited information in the owners manual !

I installed both a 120 fan and a 12v fan.
They are both ran by temp controllers as you can see at the top of this pic.

I hadn't mounted the 12v fan or the temp controller yet.

The 120v plugs right in where the fridge plugs in.

The 12v fan is wired in to the switched power of the 12v side of the fridge.

I'll try to get some pics this weekend.

Both fans are 120mm

Right now the temp controllers are set to come on at 103 and go off at 95

I just took another look at the manual that I have an could find no reference to adjusting the temperature.

Our manual (2652 and other models) doesn't cover it either. In fact, it states that the temperature is factory set which implies non-adjustable. However, the in-refer slider is labeled nicely.
