I think it is too warm. I would like to know what is an expected temp for a Dometic Refrigerator in 90-95 degree weather. Thanks

Yesterday, I checked my Dometic refrigerator using the coldest setting.
The outside temperature was in mid-90's. The freezer was 15 and the lower refrigerator was 30. Which was much colder than it needed to be. I did not have any food in it.
I was just checking it.

At 10:00 last night the fridge was in the mid 50"s and the Freezer was in the upper 20's. Am going to put it on gas in a few minutes and see if it operates any better. Will update later today. Thanks.

Sorry I did not respond yesterday Flybob. The Temp slider is between the first and second fins and as high as it will go without being in a strain. The bottom is about 2 inches from the bottom of the fin.

At 10:15 this morning the temp in the freezer was at 2 degrees F and the fridge was at 46 degrees F. These readings are weird.

The button was out on the chimney sensor. I pushed it in and took these readings shortly after. Then I switched it over to gas to see if it performed better on gas.

That is where it stands now. Thanks

Also make sure the probe has not slid down inside the slider.

I'm sorry, nothing in either except air. It is a new to us 07 Cedar Creek. Fridge is a Dometic RM2862.

Trying to get everything up to par before trying to venture away from home. It has been about 5 years since we camped in our previous fifth wheel.

The probe is in the bottom of the slider. Do I need to move it to the top? I realize that may be a STOOPID question, but I do not know and have never seen any information on the subject.

Here's why you need food in the fridge.
http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~mnr/fridge.html

The continuous-cycle*absorption*cooling unit is operated by the application of a ... This, in turn, extracts heat from the food storage space, lowering the temperature inside the*refrigerator.

To get my probe as high as possible, I had to pull a little more probe wire (technical term) through the rubber grommet (gently, of course) into the refrigerator box.

I am back again and still having refrigerator cooling problems. I have since replaced the drain line and installed a twin set of fans on the fins. The thermister has been moved to the farthest right fin and the wall of the refrigerator. It is located at the top of the slider and is about 2/3s from bottom to top of the fin.

I have placed 2 bottles of water on the top shelf of the refrigerator with an analog thermometer in one bottle of the water. There are several other bottles and cans of fluids in the refrigerator compartment.

I purchased a digital thermometer with dual sensors to be able to know all the temps at the same time.

Yesterday (Saturday) the temp in the freezer was at 3 degrees F and the refrigerator digital thermometer was at 40 degrees F while the analog was showing 37 degrees F.

Today at 8:00 AM the Freezer was at -5 degrees F and climbed to 4 degrees F during the day. The Refrigerator was at 48 degrees F and climbed to 59 degrees F during the day.

Tomorrow after work, I will check the resistance of the thermister.

Any input is appreciated. Mine is not working. LOL
