Dual ACs

We just purchased a 2018 Cherokee Cascade 26DBHC with the dual roof AC units. The question I have is, is this system designed for the units to actually cool at the same time? When running both units it seems the front unit cools but the rear does not. They both cool if running independently but not when running together. My understanding was this was supposed to be a fairly innovative system as having 2 ACs on a 30 amp service. I was under the assumption that both units would cool at the same time if the were both running together.

not sure, but it's quite possible that the 30amp system includes an EMS(electrical management system) that allows them both to 'run' at the same time, to move air in both locations, but only one at a time as for the compressor cooling.
it's probably not designed to run both compressors at the same time, since that would eat up so much of your 30amp service, anything else would trip the breaker, including water heater(electric), microwave(for sure!), fridge(if 120v), etc.

It does have that...and that's probably why only one actually "runs" when they're both on. Thanks
