DVD player to TV Hookup?

We have a new Puma FW with a Genesis GT-2.0 DVD player, etc. and Toshiba Model 32C120U LCD television with a "ColorStream" input for tv programming. There are many features of the GT-2.0 I don't understand.

How is the DVD player to be connected to the TV for watching DVD,s?

Welcome to the forum. The "ColorStream" uses 3 connections, red, blue and green for the video. I doubt the Genesis has those video outputs. You can pass video with a yellow RCA cord and red and white RCA cords for the audio. Or use an HDMI cable. Do you have the manuals for the Toshiba and Genesis?

I've researched the cable terminology I've never known. In fact, the unit came with the DVD player connected to the TV with two heavy (1/4" dia.) RCA cables and a thru cabinet wall coupling. It was mated with one of the three Video-Outputs on the player and the CVBS/Y ColorStream connection point on the TV. This had to be disconnected for the ColorStream cable (CSC) to be connected. After disconnecting the CSC and reconnecting the RCA connector a video signal was passed to the TV; however, black and white only. And, I don't see were to interconnect a second RCA cable. The TV has two HMDI input points but the DVD player does not include a HMDI connection point. In order to get color is there a RCA connector on one end and HMDI connectors on the other end? However, again I don't know were the second would be connected And, is there some sort of splitter/isolator that could be used so that cables would not have to disconnected/connected to switch between DVD and TV.

I do have the manuals for both the player and TV; for what they are worth.

I don't know about your unit, but in mine the dvd player has just one video cable to the tv, it have to be connected in the "green" input, if there's not a yellow video input on the tv. The 3 color red, green and blue is for hd/720 res. and some of the campers dvd players do not come with that. Mine didn't! Some units are hdmi ready, I'm guessing that yours did not come with the hdmi.

(And the sound is only through the radio speakers not the tv, you'll need another audio cable for that)

Thanks for all the input and education. I concluded what needs to be done based on the info provided and experimentation with different connections.

In order to watch DVD's in color and not have to disconnect from the ColorStream points, I'll purchase another CD/CDV player with HMID out put points.

I find that the idea of selling a FW with a CD/DVD and TV combination that does not allow the simple connections for color DVD movies is ludicrous, at best. Leaves me feeling the dupe.
