Electric fireplace EF-30A

Hi All,

I have a 2015 Wildcat Maxx 282 fifth wheel. We only used the fireplace a few times but now it won't work. I removed it and bench tested it and there is power to the on/off switch but nothing past the circuit board. The local dealer is no help at all except giving me the manufacturer's email address in China. I'm not getting a response from China.

Does anyone know where I can get a new circuit board?

Thanks in advance.

Electric fireplace issue

I can't believe nobody is or has had a fireplace issue. I still have no response from the manufacturer and the dealer doesn't know how to fix it.

Thanks for the reply, it doesn't quite look like mine.
I'm not sure how to show a picture on here.

I had 2 fireplaces in my trailer. One in the living room stopped working while under warranty and was replaced by the dealer. The second one in the bedroom has stopped working and I removed it. It was not very functional because you could not see it when you were sitting in bed. We plugged an oil filled heater into it's outlet and the heater keeps the bedroom warm and is virtually silent.

I intend to troubleshoot the fireplace to see if it is an easy fix. If not I will use mechanical controls from a cheap fireplace or electric heater to replace the circuit board. I will keep it as a spare in case the other fireplace fails.

First if you are not comfortable working around live power (120VAC) that could easily kill you then just replace the fireplace and be safe.

When the switch is on do you have 120VAC from both sides of the switch to common? What does it read between the switch terminals with it on? and with it off?

What is between the output side of the switch and the board?

Any fuses between the switch and the board? or on the board?

Pictures will help a lot, I will be opening up my fireplace in the next few days but they probably aren't the same. There are a lot of threads on posting pictures and it varies with how you get on the forum.

There a probably sensors off the board that can also kill power.

I have the EF-30B so it could be different.

1st, exactly what is not working?

I opened mine up last night and mine was an easy fix, the spade connector on the sensor on top of the heater/blower assembly was off. and a few others felt like they were almost off.

When the switch is on do you have 120VAC from both sides of the switch to common? YES. What does it read between the switch terminals with it on? and with it off? Full power after the switch, but nothing on anything leaving the board.

What is between the output side of the switch and the board? Nothing, after the power switch there is only a wire going to the board.

Any fuses between the switch and the board? or on the board? No.

There is no power going to the heater, fan or lights. There is power coming out of the main switch with it in the on position.

I have checked for all loose wires and/or connections, and there are no fuses.

EF-30A remote replacement

Where can I get a replacement remote for the EF-30A?
Buttons have decayed and it is ~2015. I can still use the remote if I lick my fingers, but that is a short term solution.

I've tried looking for it, but no joy.

BTW, 120 won't kill you unless you're standing in water when you hit it.
220 will.

No idea where you can get a remote, i have been trying for over a year to get my fireplace fixed by the rv dealer, forest river and the mfr. Good luck on your search.

Dead Fireplace too

I just bought a 2014 Sandpiper and the fireplace doesn't work either. I tested a few things but figure the circuit board is shot? Anyway, I am just going to get a new fireplace. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good model that's not too expensive?

"Electric Fireplaces | Inserts & TV Stand | Electric Fireplaces Direct" https://www.electricfireplacesdirect.com

This may help those wanting to replace, repair. We're considering a new installation from this company.

Take measurements of the unit and check out Amazon's offerings. They list dimensions
