File Types Supported with Jensen AWM968.

We bought an FR3 30DS and love the unit. I put some videos on a jump drive as mp4 files and they show up in folders but are not playable. I found out in the manual that it doesn't play mp4 files. The menu shows symbols for audio, video and still pictures. The manual specifies that it can read mp3 and wma. I am trying to find what video file types it accepts. Any help would be appreciated as it will take a while converting each file to a different type trying to find one that works.

I've tried flv's, 3gp's and webm(vp8)'s with no luck. I'll keep trying every file type I can think of. There must be something useable since there is a video tab!

Mpg files on a jump drive seem to play ok, but I can't get the bar with the file name to disappear from the screen. It runs right through the top of the picture.

Their systems are out of pace by about 10 years, we found the same thing with ours when we bought it, the dealer said it was better just to replace it with an over the counter car type unit, we have not done that 'yet'.

I was going to go to their site and see if they have any firmware updates that might help.

With our Jensen I just convert my video files with convertxtodvd and burn them to DVD. It appears to be the only option from what I can see.

I'm making progress. Mpg files in 640 x 480 (or smaller) work and by having several of them on the drive with no other files, I'm no longer stuck with the information bar through the picture.
The only draw back now is a, somewhat rare, stutter in some videos. I'm still figuring why that is.

I am wondering if WMV files will work off a USB drive. I just picked up a WD tv box plugged it in with a hdmi cable and can watch it that way as mp4 files.
