Fre tech, the offer is extremely genererous, however; we hardly would use the setup, and would probably be better off with just the stand alone DVD player. Others may find it usefull, but I think I am all set. I was kind of venting a bit, why give a DVD player if you are not going to hook it up?

You are a good person Fre tech, don't let anyone take advantage of your good nature :-)

Your Dealer should be able to get you a manual. Also if your Radio was of the first batch made and installed there is no way to turn the alarm off.The Dealer has to order you a new one and install it for you. When I bought my 08 Flagstaff there was no solution for the problem so I replaced mine with a different make radio.

2007 Rockwood Concertone Questions

I just purchased a new 2007 Rockwood 2604S and have a few questions about the Concertone system. I am disappointed to hear of the problems people are having.

A couple of questions if anyone knows the answers would be appreciated.

Why does the on off button stay on all the time after you shut the unit off?

Is the heat build up a problem for the unit?

I have the ZX500, the television was missing and the dealer is replacing it. Wondering, would the newer model television be a problem with the older unit?

Thanks
Mike

We just had an issue with our ZX600 Concertone this weekend. While watching TV outside, my wife walked into the camper, and asked me " are you having problems with the speakers cutting out outside". Well I was not, and after going inside of the camper I noticed that the inside speakers in the main living area were cutting out. They would come on for a few seconds, then go off. It only seemed to be cutting out on the left side speakers.(the ones' near the door way). Then after some checking I noticed that only one of the two bedroom speakers were working. It seems to be doing this on all settings, TV, Radio, DVD. I tried messing with the settings, L-R, Balance, and nothing helped. Fre Tech. Do you think I have a Concertone going bad. We purchased our camper in March, and have not had any problems with our concertone till now. Thanks Dale

Need a replacement for your Concertone?

Hello everyone, I'm new hear. Just purchased a 2009 Puma 30FQSS and spent the last week camping in the upper middle states (Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota) on our way back home to Wpg. I'm Canadian eh! The dealer had given us the option of installing a LCD and stereo system but I declined. Some 19" LCD with 5.1 surround system for $1000.00 extra. I stopped in at Best Buy and picked up a 26" LCD that fits perfectly for $399.00. Everyone seems to be having problems with their Concertone units so I found an excellent replacement! The Pyle Audio PLDVCR500 DVD/VCR combo, plays everything but a slice of bread and records too! I know with the new PVR's and such on the market that VCR's may be passe but for $225.00 how can you go wrong. The units fits perfectly into the square hole the Concertone is in and also has a remote. Google the unit for more info.

Nice to know we have an option!

Cheers and happy RVing

Pete

Hey Fre tech
Just replaced our monitor with a regular 19" tv set and was wondering if we are able to use any of the other options from the concertone with this set, I must tell you upfront that our knowledge of electronics is very slim,,,lol but just wondering if there is anything of use left with the system, the stereo still works fine,,holding our breath on that also, so I guess my question is, if we want to use a dvd player exactly how do we need to hook it up? thanks for the advice.

FYI, I was at the RV Show in Hershey this week end and I spoke to a Forest River Factory Rep( he was pushing the V-Cross line by Forest River ) any way I talked to him about the Concertone problems that everyone was having. Well first off you will see Concertone only in Forest River products, that's because the owner of Forest River owns Concertone. This might be why it is hard to get a hold of them for wannanty.

I just posted a question about my ZX600 labeled Trouble with DVD. Will you read it and let me know if you can help? I can take a pic if needed.
Thanks,

My Concertone works fine, but I lost the remote. Will the on-line replacement remote that isn't Concertone (but they claim does "most" of the functions) work? I have the ZX500 in my 2007 Rockwood.

here is a cut and paste from a previous poster who called the factory with
your exact problem--
Hope this helps!!

Ok, here is the deal. I called Forest River support about the zx 75 and when I said that, the tech right off the bat said, alarm won't shut off :-) So they are aware, the first batches had problems, subsequent batches have the option to shut them off, here is what I heard, but have not tried yet.

1) Make sure the unit is "off" not disconnected from the battery or anything, just not playing music etc.

2) The LCD, while still being dim, if you look closely, you will still see the time, and "somewhere" on the LCD there is the word timer.

3) If you see timer on the screen, press the sleep timer button and the word timer should disappear.

That should shut off the alarm.

So, to summerize, in the off position in the word timer is on the screen, the alarm is on, to shut it off, hit the sleep timer button while the unit is off to remove the word timer from the screen.

Here is to hoping this fixes everyones problems :-)

I have a spare remote.
Are you SURE it's lost.
I'm wondering how you permanently loose a remote inside something the
size of a travel trailer????

If you are absolutely, positively, beyond ANY doubt, sure it's permanently lost
then I can send you my spare.

IF my concertcrap dies after the one year warranty I'm gonna yank it out of there
and replace it with a JVC model KD-DV5400 AM/FM car radio that also plays
mp3, DVDs and just about anything else and it comes with a remote too.
See my post at the end of the thread called 12v replacement.
