Seeing this is your first post…..

Has the bunk worked before?
Is this a new rig?

With no exact info of how it should work, I’ll try the obvious….
Is your ignition supposed to be on or off?
Is your parking brake on? If yes, is it on firmly?
Any other forward location 12 volt systems not working?
Is there another 10amp fuse you can swap with, just to be sure?

This is a 2014 Forest River 25DS that we have had no issues with over the last 4 years since purchased Yes it worked perfectly last year and this is the first time we tried it this year and no power no clicking no nothing. We put a meter to the back of the on/ off switch and power to there but no power at the rocker raise lower switch
We did switch the fuse for a new one just to be sure.

expanding on welder, my FR3 an I believe most have a on/off switch near the switched by the stairs. there i a Key that turns on and off the bunk.
Maybe it got turned off by mistake or is effecting the function of the bunk due to another electrical issue?

Yes there is a key and a rocker switch for raising and lowering
So far we have replaced the fuse and also checked to make sure it was good. We cleaned the battery terminals and the clamp from the fuse wire. Then we used a jumper wire from the battery direct to on/ off key and there is power there
We are at a loss, we have not tried a jumper wire from battery direct to raise/ lower rocker switch that is our next thought.
If anyone has other suggestions we are sure willing to try. We don’t think bunk motors as they wouldn’t both go at same time 🤷*♀️
The bunk worked last year and this is first time we tried it this year and we’re shocked when it wouldn’t lower. No clicking sound no nothing
Thanks for any insight you can provide

You are very diligently going through all the steps and what is left is beginning to look like the motor. If there are 2 maybe one is bad and both need to be working to run?

Looking more like a motor or motors have failed or not getting power

Best of luck -

FR3 25DS Overhead bunk

Thanks for all the comments but have another question
If by chance the motor or motors are toast then how do we get at them as the bunk is in up position and we don’t want to damage anything

There are a few posts that talk about actuators & motors on the forum or online. I really do not know where the motor is Id probably have to guess ..

check these posts out maybe they can point you in the tight direction

You can look in the headliner between the shade and window, up in the roof area above the dash, that whole single piece pops out. maybe the motor is up there?

https://www.forestriverforums.com/fo...ng-177019.html

and just to make sure you checked the fuse for the bunk is located in the external battery compartment right next to your steps. You will find 4 possible fuses down there, start on the left hand side and look for one that is a 10AMP fuse. The fuse will be covered in either red or black rubber holder.
