Frigidaire

I have a Frigidaire 115v refrig. in my 2020 Geo Pro 15ftb. do you know if this refrig. is supposed to continue to operate and keep contents cold/frozen while connected to a tow vehicle during an 8 hour drive? Mine will not do that.

A 115v appliance will not work on 12v power. So no, it would not work when not connected to an electric source.

However, are you sure that you don't have a 12v refrigerator? The website shows that that model has a 12v refrigerator. In that case, it should work on battery power. However, your tow vehicle may not provide enough power to keep your battery charged.

The only way that can happen is if you have an INverter connected to the fridge.

we have a fridgidaire residential refrigerator in our 5th wheel. we have an inverter to power it from the batteries while we are towing. only have a couple of group 27 batteries and or course the inverter. we get some power through the 7-in cable while towing, but no a lot. but every bit helps. we have never had the batteries go down low enough while towing so that they are not able to keep the refrigerator running. one thing to ensure is that the batteries are fully charged when you start for the day. since we stay at places with overnight electrical hook-ups this is not a problem for us.

a couple of tips"
put some frozen milk jugs of ice in the refrigerator.
do not put anything that is not precooled in the refrigerator at the start of your tow.
turn of the ice maker while towing.

hope this helps
