Furnace On, Heatpump Clicking

Is this normal? I have the heat pump option. I noticed tonight that when in furnace mode, the overhead heat pump/AC clicks (relay?) several times upon furnace start-up and shut-down. Furnace runs normally. Does it regardless if on battery or 120v. I ran the heat pump with no problem just to see if clicking happens while in heat pump mode. Just on furnace start and stop..?? I never noticed this before.

What was the air temp before VS air temp now?

Heat pump good to 40 +/- degrees.

It was 50 ambient . Finally a nice day! The clicking only happens when in furnace mode and only when the furnace starts and when it turns off.

BTW, my heat pump cuts off at 32 ambient. I know it's less effective below 45.

Is there a pattern to the clicks, 2 long 1 short or something like that?

Just wondering if the clicks are the pump resetting or error
coding?

I'd have to go listen to it again. Seems it was 4 clicks in succession. Does the A/C-Heat Pump transmit codes that way?

I was surprised the HP/AC had anything to do with the furnace...

No idea, that's why I ask...

What if anything does the manual for the A/C - heat pump say?

I haven't checked the manual. Was hoping to take the shortcut by asking. Everything works fine, just don't remember the relay clicking. I'll research the manuals if nobody has the clicking.

In reviewing the installation manual, seems the furnace control runs through the HP/AC control box. I'm thinking the clicking s normal and I just never paid attention to it before.
