Furrion AC Humidity

Hey Y'all-
New user here- but NOT new Trailer Trasher

I have a 2021 Palomino Solaire 202RB. I've been in it since Jan 2021 out in central California.
It has a Furrion AC/Heat unit. Our Jayco back home has a Coleman unit. I'm not a fan of Furrion's fan running constantly - but that's not why I'm here...

Over the last few weeks I've noticed that when I run the unit on Cool mode- the humidity increases dramatically---around 1% per couple minutes. I messed around with a bit to see how dramatic it is, and it's gotten as high as 84% after an hour, with the starting humidity at 39%.
I put it in Dry mode, which of course takes care of the humidity- but I woke up this morning with it being 56 degrees in the trailer, since the set temp doesnt matter in dry.

I've been out here for a couple of years now- and this is a new issue. I initially noticed it about a week before the storm hit the coast, & we'd had some rainy days where the humidity here was higher than normal-- but it continues to be a problem. I live in the Southern Midwest, so humidity is normally my friend- but I DO prefer that it lives outside.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

turn the air onto cool... set it to somewhere between 72-77

watch for any condensate .... there should be some
if not check how clean the coils are

use thermometer to measure the air temp at the cold air vent
it should be around 20% less than the air inside the trailer

cooling ... should reduce humidity not add to it.

I can tell you exactly why the 56 reading. As many people told me, it’s because of the idiotic method Furrion uses on the units controlled by a thermostat. The temperature sensor is located in the roof unit above the foam filter.

When it runs for some time and the temperature hits the set temp if you have the fan in auto mode, the unit shuts off fan and all. The sensor is reading the cold temperature of the coils which gives it a reading of mid 50s. Needless to say the unit will not come back on even if the actual room temperature gets uncomfortable.

My 13.5k BTU coleman Mach VIII is probably oversized for my unit. As such, it short cycles. In between cycles, humidity goes up HIGH. Like 80% or higher high. Most places here back East, I need to bring my dehumidifier along, and it runs most of the the time I have shore power.
