Furrion Backup Camera?

My Vibe has a location for this prepped. Looking through the online manual I don't see anything about this.

What do I need to get and how does this work? These thing are pricy. Will other types work instead?

Edit: Is this all I need?

I bought a cheap camera and screen from Amazon similar to your post
it works fine

The camera prep is usually ... that there is a power wire for the camera.
The furrion mount.. on mine broke because it was not installed well.....
only 2 screws holding it

I removed it and used the U bracket.

I get reasonable reception at 60-65 mph using it as an observation camera
some time lag.... some days when above 60mph
but still able to tell ........if I got a tailgater....

Will the wiring be there if the mount part is on the trailer? I could not get up there to read the writing on it.

It should be wired if the mount is there. The mount will have a “blank” cover held on by a cple screws where the camera will go and the wiring should be tucked inside.

yup the camera only needs a power and a negative wire. it will be under the furrioin mount.

your antenna may not fit correctly you may have to file away some of the plastic from the mounting plate / seal it with calk

tow vehicle must be plugged in and the lights turned on...

don't leave the light switch on the AUTO in the truck lights have to be "ON"
I use the power outlet for the rear passengers to power the camera
that way I still have somewhere to charge phones from the dash.

when you power up the system
if you may see a blank screen with a word "Source" or similar
that means you need to use the screens buttons to connect to the camera source
most screens can have uptp 4 cameras
BUT it is best to order the ALL cameras at the same time as the screen to avoid any confusion.

I only opted for the rear camera no sides.
Didn't use it for reversing !
I rather have someone look out for me OR I get out and look myself

I ordered the camera in my above post. I only got the rear camera. I won't use it much while driving, but I plan on using it when backing into a spot. I will also have a spotter. This will help me see the spotter. Back when I backed up in my motorhome I taught my wife that if I can't see her I stop. That rear camera had audio also. This time I plan on using out phones which my phone will be connected to my hearing aids via bluetooth.

Search bar

Type "Backup camera" in the search bar above.
You will get hours and hours of reading enjoyment.

There are many cameras out there and opinions for each one.
Take your time, do your research and make a decision that is best for you...

I use the AMTIFO A7 HD 1080P... (it's the sister to the one in your link of your original post)

Hope this helps...

It's a rear observation camera, not a backup camera. It's wired to the running lights, not to the reverse backup lights.

How did you mount it? I don't want to screw it down to my dash.

His original post said Furrion Backup Camera...

That is what I suggested he type in the search bar.

Same thing only different. Everyone refers to the subject differently.

I'm not going to split human hairs...

My package included a windshield suction cup mount for the monitor.

I was only addressing that the Furrion camera system, is a rear observation camera system, not a backup camera system.
I didn't mean to offend you personally. I guess should have quoted the original post.

I don't know of any of these systems that require the monitor to be screwed into the dash.

No worries, no offense taken!
We are here to discuss various topics & be on-topic-ish, thats why I said "it's the same thing only different"...

I should not be splitting human hairs either.

Be well!

I agree, but the bracket that is shown with it looks like something you would screw onto something. This is all that it comes with, apparently I have to buy the windshield bracket. I don't intend to have this on while traveling, but only when at the campground.

I am getting too much stuff on my dash. I will have a TPMS, a GPS and now this.

Suction cup mount

I looked in detail at the Amazon listing for the camera and found this information. (see pic)

There is a suction cup (manufacturer calls it a bracket) available but it looks like you need to contact the manufacturer and request it.

My camera & all of the accessories (wiring pigtail, mounting screws, camera mounting bracket, rubber vibration washers, power cord, windshield suction cup mount & etc) were in the box. I don't know why this particular camera does not come with the windshield mount. "Things" change all the time with manufacturers and Amazon (especially prices).

If I remember correctly there was an email address printed somewhere on the installation instructions.

I did see that after posting how to install it. I have a large suction cup mount for tablets that I may use.

The back of the monitor has a square slot and the windshield mount has a corresponding square block protrusion that fits exactly into the monitor slot.
I don't think your tablet mount will work but fingers crossed for you that it does...
