Genesis 3.0 and television

The radio works fine however when I try to play a DVD there is sound and no picture. Also I cannot get the tv to work on the surround sound on the radio. Any thoughts.

Did the tv/dvd work before? If it did and there were no modifications made, check the connections. Try hooking the tv up to a different player if one is available, if that checks out, it may be a defective Genesis unit, they have numerous discussions in the forum of people having problems. Mine was replaced at the Goshen rally due to the dvd player problems.

How is the Gen 3 connected to the TV?

If you have an HDMI input on the TV, run an HDMI wire from back (not front) of the Gen 3 to the HDMI input on the TV.

As to sound from the TV to the Gen 3

Do you have an audio output on the TV?

If so, analog (Red and White RCA "phono" plugs) or digital (Orange/black RCA or TosLink Fiber Optic)?

Remember to get surround OUT of the TV you will need to use the digital outputs if available and go IN to the Gen 3 through the rear digital inputs. Make sure you select which input on the Gen 3 you connected to in the audio setup (can choose COAX or TosLink there).
