Genesis Technologies GT-2.0 face plate is sticky

I have a Genesis Technologies GT-2.0 in my trailer and the Texas heat has melted (I guess you can call it that) the rubber texture on the face plate and has made the face plate to the unit very sticky to touch. I have tried to clean the sticky texture off with little luck. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to remove it to make it not be sticky anymore?

I have the same issue. We live in Florida. We have had our camper for 2.5 years. We are camping now and this is first time I noticed this issue. Have not tried to resolve it though. Hoping to find out if there is a solution before I try anything. Have you found a solution?

Try a q-tips worth of isroporphl alcohol in a corner of the screen to see if it removes the residue.

Just a thought

Yes, I thought about trying that. I was just wondering if there was a specific chemical to resolve/prevent this issue.
Thank you!

I have tried isopropyl alcohol on the black face plate area. It took off some of the stickiness from the face plate but not much to make a difference.

I actually worked on it today using the alcohol. It took me about 30 minutes but it worked great! I just wonder how long it will last though. It feels like regular plastic now :-)

Thank You!

I did the same thing today. I cleaned the face plate with rubbing alcohol and a lot of elbow grease for about 30 minutes and got it all off except for one small spot in the bottom corner. I could not get that spot off. It is hardly noticeable though and not sticky either, so I'm okay with it for now.
