Gentleness (VENTLINE) rangehood/ exhaust fan

So I was wondering if anyone else has or is having a problem with the fan motor in the hood. I have had two stop working in the last 2 months....light still works but fan has just quit. Any ideas will help. Thanks and thanks for the site. So I see this says "gentleness" range hood....it should have said VENTLINE.......go figure......I have a ventline rangehood exhaust fan unit over the stove and it keeps blowing fan motors.....

What is the voltage at the fan motor?

Check to see if the blades are not bound or being obstructed and if the outside vent is open.

I trust your converter is connected to a good battery. Otherwise, there can be a significant amount of AC ripple on the DC line. DC motors don't like that.

Good call, Bob. Homes don't have a latch on the outside vent cover so newbies don't realize they need to unlatch it. Homes don't go rolling down the highway at 65 mph either.

You say the fan is a 120-volt fan? Or are you saying the trailer is connected to shore power? Most Ventline units are 120 volts AC. However, some RV units are 12-volt DC.

Have you checked for a thermal switch? This would turn the fan ON as the temperature above the stove reaches some preset value. Turn the fan OFF as the temperature decreases below the set point. At what temperatures, I have no clue.

Range vent fan

If your feeling competent to do elec work, most range hoods have a thermal fuse inline in case the hood gets too hot. They don't reset, shut off breaker or fuse. Remove panel ,next to hood lights you should find in line thermal fuse attached to motor wire it looks just like the one on most water heaters, check with ohm meter after removing one side of fuse if open there are numbers printed on fuse link that tell you it's temperature, I had to replace my friends twice as they were cooking using multiple burners without turning on fan,
