I have both on my outlet. I can't read the fine print next to it. Sometimes the green is on, sometimes the red is on. Sometimes neither. Everything seems to be working correctly regardless of which light is on? What do they mean? I'm not a smart man but red means bad?

Here is some info about the GFI Indicator lights. Sounds like it needs it be replaced.
