Pulled into camp today and started setting up. Turned on the Insignia 50" and was met with various distortions which often look like the Northern Lights. Internet is working well on other devices. TV is 2 months out of warranty (why am I not surprised). Anyone have any suggestions besides replacing it?

You might try hooking the tv up to your home (or another) antenna or cable system to confirm the need to replace it. Other than turning it on/off several times thats about all you can do. Confirm also that your input is set for antenna, cable, or whatever your feed is. You might also try a media input to see if you get any kind of picture.

When it's first turned on, seems OK. Then the lights start small and gradually get more intense. I'm assuming a component is overheating. If it's a weak component, nothing can be done that I know of. Dust, on the other hand, can cause overheating also so might try to blow it out somehow.

It happens regardless of input. The problem is video only. The audio works fine.
Well darn, for your sake I was hoping it was just the Firestick. Sounds like it's time to find a new TV. Do you dry camp a lot? I know they are putting 12V TV in now so you don't need your inverter when you have no shore power.
