Help with fridge

Hi all. New here. I have a 2020 FR rockwood tt. I plugged in today to start cooling down fridge for a trip tomorrow. The light on fridge (dometic ) is on but fridge just beeps and doesn’t cool down. It will will stop beeping and cool down when I switch to gas.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

Thx

Mike.

Stupid question but, is the camper on shore power? It needs that to switch from lp to au.

It is plugged into 110
At house. This is how I usually cool it down. Or at least have in past.

If it works on LP then your 12VDC is good. Check the circuit breaker to ensure 120VAC. Mine has an outlet on the outside, under the cover. You can check for power there.

It's always more helpful if you posted make and model number of the fridge.

Thanks. I checked voltage there and nothing. But light on fridge was on.

Sorry about not posting model number

Been doing battle with our Dometic four door fridge.

Discovered that we have to close the left lower door carefully with two hands. Have to carefully slide that seal into place or the fridge does not work correctly!

In our unit, seal leaking issues show up as water in the vegetable drawers at the bottom of the unit. Besides not cooling well.

Your light is another indicator that the 12VDC is good. Your issue is between the refrigerator and the power panel. My refrigerator is on its own circuit breaker, so if there is an issue, it has to be the refrigerator. If yours is sharing a circuit, then who knows, could be a tripped GFI somewhere.

Either you don't have 120v to the heating coil due to wiring, unplugged, blown circuit breaker etc or your 120v heating coils are bad.

If you go outside and open the panel, does the 120v have an outlet and plug in there? You can test that outlet for power there.

Thanks.
The outlet where fridge plugs in does not show voltage but the light on fridge is on and it beeps. Is it getting that power from the batteries?

I took fridge plug and ran extension cord to house outlet and fridge does cool down.

Thanks again for help all

The fridge light is running off your batteries (12v).

When you plugged into the extension cord, did you plug into the same outlet you were using before? If yes, then the problem is with the trailer starting with the cord and ending at the outlet the fridge uses. If no, then check the original house outlet for current.

Thanks. Yes I am using same outlet at house.
So when I am connected to 110 house power the outlet the fridge plugs into should have power? Suggestions on possibly why that outlet doesn’t have power.? I checked breakers , nothing tripped.
Thanks again all for help

If you have 120v power in other parts of the trailer then we can assume the cord is good. Is the light on your microwave lit? Do other outlets have current?

Sometimes tripped breakers don't look tripped. Flip them off and then on again.

If that fails to make the outlet work, look for a tripped GFCI in your trailer perhaps in the bathroom or kitchen or outside under a flap.

Hmm. No power at any outlets. No lights on microwave. Should all outlets have voltage when plugged in to just 120 at house?

Thanks

Are you using an adaptor to allow your trailer's cord to plug into your house?

If your trailer is plugged into a working outlet, which you say it is, and you have no working outlets and no working microwave in the trailer, I would think the cord or the adaptor is broken.

Swapping is a good test for the cord, but you still might be using a defective adaptor. If you have a voltmeter, you can test the continuity on both sides of the adaptor and also of the cord. If you are using one of those "puck" adaptors, they do fail and more often than the "dog bone" type.

Well sure enough it was the 50 to 30 step down adapter! Phew! since that is the cheapest of all fixes.
Thank you all for helping me through this diagnosis!

Maybe a silly question but why are you using a 50A to 30A adapter if you are plugged into a 120V outlet at home?

Currently I step down with two adapter plugs when at home. 50-30 and then 30-120v.
