I have a rockwood pop up and looking for recommendations on what gear to purchase to inflate my own trailer tires from home, rather than navigating busy gas stations and reversing into tight spaces to use their air pressure gauges. Can anyone recommend a brand or model? I’ve heard there are a few that plug into your cigarette lighter in the car, but unsure how effective these are?

I'm very happy with my Viair 400 RV, but I got it 3 years ago for a major discount. I have no idea why they temporarily dropped the price as much as they did at the time. I might be willing to pay the current price. Not sure. I'd have to assess other options before deciding.

I chose a 12V system because my truck will always be with me to power it, but I won't always have a source of AC power. Others will give their reasons for their choices.

The "RV" designation means it comes with an extension hose. The pump has to connect directly to the battery due to power demand. That puts it at the front of your vehicle. The extension hose lets you get to the back axle of the trailer.

We've got both adapters and used them both depending on if we're home or on the road.

I have a Husky that is 12 volt and 110 volt with different tips to inflate different items. Very common to find these inflaters for sale everywhere. Just dont go for the cheapest. Look for middle of the road.

You might want to take a look at a small compressor. I have a.regular compressor in my workshop but it is a pain dragging the hose to.the TT. I bought a small pancake compressor that does.the job.nicely. it is also.handy for inflating inner tubes when at a campground and going to the river. I also use it for brad nailers.

I use my VIAIR 300P 12v Portable Compressor at home and on the road. This particular unit doesn't have a cigarette lighter plug... but all of those I've had took forever to air up a tire. This 300P unit has relatively heavy duty clamps to attach to battery terminals.

I use a Ryobi one which uses a rechargeable Ryobi battery. But I also have other Ryobi tools and the battery charger and spare batteries. Ryobi make two different tire pumps.

Small air compressors for small tires on a PUP and for other general uses are abundant.
