How to tell fridge is running on electric? Other than the fact that it's cold!

Turned on my fridge last night for the first time (my trailer is plugged into my house using a 30amp --> 15amp connector). The "on" light came on but I couldn't hear it running.

Fast forward to this morning and the fridge was cold (below 40deg) so it's definitely working. Still, it was frustrating not knowing last night whether it was actually running or not. Is there a way to verify that it's actually cooling on electricity without waiting to see if it gets cold?

What model do you have. I have tons of info on the Dometic RV fridge.
There is no "compressor" in an RV fridge.

Not sure the exact model, but it's a Dometic in a 2012 Rockwood trailer. Makes sense that it runs silently considering there's no compressor. Given that, I guess there really are no visible or audible clues that it's running when on electricity? I know where to look for the flame when it's running on propane...

If you have it set in "auto" mode, it will default to 110Vac operation and only switch to propane when your trailer is disconnected from shore power, as long as your propane valves are open. If there is no propane source or valves are closed the "check" light will illuminate.

yep, exactly right.

Auto Light ON with shore power; it is running on AC
Auto Light ON - NO shore power; running on DC and propane

Auto Light ON with GAS Button Selected;
running on DC and propane ONLY regardless of AC availability.

Auto Light ON - Check Light ON;
NO AC available AND No Propane Available

Auto light OFF - UNIT OFF.
