How to use Genesis GT 3.0

I have a Genesis GT 3.0 in our Rookwood 5th wheel. The TV in the trailer is a Toshiba model 32C100UI. How do I play DVD's or use the SD card reader? I used the input on the TV, which gave a box listing, Ant/cable, video, color stream HD, HDMI 1, HDMI 2, and PC. I tried the color stream HD, put dvd into the GT 3.0, dvd load and the audio plays through the trailer speakers. But the image on the TV comes up no signal. I also tried the SD card reader same thing no signal. I then tried video from the input selection, nothing. The cable from the GT 3.0 ( yellow cable ) is hooked up to the yellow jack on the color stream in section on the back of the TV. I did not get a book with the GT 3.0, looked on line but that did not help. Any suggestions?

The book is not much help anyway...
The yellow cord you spoke of is it a yellow RCA cable? If so you need to plug it into the yellow video jack. Should have three a red, white and yellow for video 1. Then set your TV input to video.

IMO I would buy a 6' HDMI cable. Plug on end into the back of the Genesis (Lower left), the other end into HDMI on the back of your TV. Then set your TV to either HDMI 1 or HDMI 2, depends on which one of the HDMI sockets you plug it into.

Here is "The Book"

You would be better off using the HDMI output. You will need to buy a 6 foot HDMI cable as it is typically installed with the yellow "Composite" RCA cable provided with the unit.

Make sure whichever output you use you select that input on your TV.
The USB or SD chip reader only work with a MAXIMUM of 8 GB USB SD drives or cards AND they can only be formatted in FAT or FAT32 format.

VISTA/Windows 7 will format in NTFS by default so you must reformat your chips/thumb drive to FAT/FAT32 for it to work.

Camera chips will already be formatted in FAT/FAT32 unless your camera can use chips larger than 8 GB; then it might have a proprietary DOS. If it does you will need to download to a smaller drive.

I lifted the tv straight up and it popped up, it took a little effort. We have a '12 Flagstaff 8528; as far as getting to the rear of the Genisis, I would think it would need to be removed from the wall.

Thank you Road King and Herk 7769, I removed the GT 3.0 and found the HDMI located on the back lower left, fished a cable up pluged it in and it works. I turned the TV to HDMI 1 inserted a DVD loaded and played. My SD card from my Sony A580 would load but not show the photo's, is the card a different format? My card is an 8GB (SDCH card)? The granddaughters will be with use this weekend and we may need the DVD, so thanks again.

I added a HDMI to my TT. All you do is plug the HDMI cable into a HDMI port on the back of your TV. Then carefully pry the frame around the Genesis system off and remove the screws that hold it in. Slowly pull it out so as not to unplug any of the rats nest of wires behind it. This is the hardest part, fish the HDMI cable through the entertainment cabinet from the hole behind the TV to the back of the Genesis. I used an electric fish tape but a long coat hanger could work. Then plug it into the only HDMI port on the back. Remount everything.
I did it by my self, but a helping hand would make it a little easier. Seems like it would come from the factory or the dealer with the HDMI hooked up.

I was able to reach down through the (GT 3.0 ) hole in the cabinet and grab the HDMI cable.

I agree the HDMI cable is the best solution as the DVD picture will better, but for those that do not make the change the Toshiba TV mentioned above uses a multifunction input which needs to be configured in the set up menu as well.

I have attached a picture of where the composite video cable needs to be plugged in and you need to look at
Page 50 of your TV Manual which shows this:
Setting AV Input mode

This setting determines the configuration of the shared AV input on your TV. You can set this input for either ColorStream HD or video.
1 From the Preferences menu, highlight AV Input.
2 Press the ( / arrow) buttons to select the desired setting. My Add – the setting should be VIDEO for the composite video input.
