Installing a wireless camera on trailer

When I pulled the top red running light off there were two black wires. The new camera has one black and one red wire. How do I figure this out? Red to hot and the black to the other black?

Thx!

Take a volt meter and measure the voltage at the two black wires of the running light with the lights on. Then reverse the meter's leads. One way you should get a + reading, the other a - reading. The + reading is what you want. The leads of your meter (red and black, I hope) will show you which of the two black wires is + and which is -. In this case, the meter's red wire is + and the black wire is -.

Check the wiring diagram for the camera. Some have three wires, black, red and white. Black is +, white is - and red is a trigger wire to turn on the camera if used as a back-up camera. If there truly only two wires, it's likely the red is + and the black is -.
