Inverter/charger in a 2008 Berkshire

We were out with MH recently and the inverter/charger kicked out and is now not working at all. The interior controller said the inverter had an "internal fault" and when I followed the manufacturer's reset instructions it crashed again.
The unit is a Magnum MM1212. Any comments/history on the make/model that I might want to know? Is it worth having the inverter looked at or should I just change it out? My local RV guy(who I trust) says they USUALLY are dead with this fault.
Typically in my experience, it usually costs more to diagnose/repair rather than buy new most electronics and you still have a used piece of equipment.
Any comments would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Glenn & Joan

Seems that Magnums are pretty good, but I do see a lot of traffic about faults and such like the one you are experiencing. Unfortunately when you put the converter, inverter and transfer switches in the same unit, swapping out can get kinda expensive.
