iRV 33 Sound Levels

Hello,

Does anyone out there understand how this system works, and how to tell if the speakers are wired properly.

I have a 2016 Roo 23IKSS with a iRV33. The system has 3 zones. Zone 1 Controls the speaker by the front bunk. Zone 2 Controls the speaker over the island. Zone 3 controls the 2 speakers outside.

I have noticed that when all zones are on and the balance is even that the outside speakers are very very quiet at normal volume levels for inside the camper. Conversely if I make the speaker outside loud enuff to hear it's way to loud inside the camper.

I have noticed that I can sort of even it out by adjusting the balance to the left. Meaning that Zones 1 and 2 only play sound from the right channel.

Whats strange though is that if I adjust the balance to full left, then the outside spear next to the door gets very loud, but there seems to be very little effect to the outside speaker near the rear of the camper. If I adjust the balance all the way to the right the outside spear near the door goes off, but the outside speaker in the rear continues to play, but not extremely loud.

I guess the extra money it might have cost to put in a system with multiple channels and a fader control was too much. So is there any way to rewire this thing to get stereo sound indoors and to even out the volume levels when listening to the speaker inside and outside at the same time? Or is this just a mono system?

Thanks
Ed

"That's the way it's Supposed to Work"

Today I took delivery of a new Rockwood 2502ks. It's a nice trailer and a great couples layout. So far, all looks great. Except this IRV33 audio/video system. It Just. Acts. Weird. At the moment, the main and repeatable problem is the inability to change the volume of the zone 3 (outside) speakers. You can adjust the volume on zones 1 & 2, but zone three just blares out at full volume. I pointed this out during the walkthrough. The guy walking me through agreed and said he'd get the warranty paperwork started. But then the shop manager came by and told us "That's the way it was built to work and FR will only replace it with another IRV33 and that one will work the same way". I told him that was wacky and he agreed but said that's the way it is. Goofy as heck. Anyway, my issue is on record with the dealer and they'll still start the warranty process to replace it. I've read elsewhere on the forum that FR is replacing them with the IRV34. I've also read that some folks have dealt directly with the supplier (Patrick Industries) and were treated fairly. Does anyone have any advice if FR rejects the warranty request of just sends me another one of these IRV33 lemons?

That is definitely not the way it is supposed to work. The IRV33's suck, plain and simple. If you find any contact info for Patrick Industries can you share it? I tried dealing with a dealer and someone from FR directly and they weren't really helpful.

I am going to install a Bluetooth transmitter for my Harmon Kardon powered speaker. Ryan outs are already available. I'll install a rca male to female 1/8 adapter for the transmitter to plug into. I tested the speaker hooked to rca. Alot louder a much better Quality
