Today I took delivery of a new Rockwood 2502ks. It's a nice trailer and a great couples layout. So far, all looks great. Except this IRV33 audio/video system. It Just. Acts. Weird. At the moment, the main and repeatable problem is the inability to change the volume of the zone 3 (outside) speakers. You can adjust the volume on zones 1 & 2, but zone three just blares out at full volume. I pointed this out during the walkthrough. The guy walking me through agreed and said he'd get the warranty paperwork started. But then the shop manager came by and told us "That's the way it was built to work and FR will only replace it with another IRV33 and that one will work the same way".
I told him that was wacky and he agreed but said that's the way it is. Goofy as heck. Anyway, my issue is on record with the dealer and they'll still start the warranty process to replace it. I've read elsewhere on the forum that FR is replacing them with the IRV34. I've also read that some folks have dealt directly with the supplier (Patrick Industries) and were treated fairly. Does anyone have any advice if FR rejects the warranty request of just sends me another one of these IRV33 lemons?
