iRV62 DVD sound out?
As in the subject, I have an iRV62 entertainment center. It's connected to a Furrion 32" TV by way of the ARC HDMI port on the TV. If the iRV is set to the corresponding HDMI input, sound from the TV is routed through the iRV and the TV remote controls the volume on the iRV.
That is the case when the TV is the program source but it doesn't work that way when watching DVDs. When I insert a DVD, the TV recognizes that through the ARC port, turns itself on, and switches to that port. The TV remote controls video start, pause, fast forward and stop.
Unfortunately, it does not control the DVD volume on the iRV. It does control the same DVD volume on the TV. Unless the TV is muted sounds comes from both.
The iRV volume must be controlled by the iRV remote. That remote is line-of-sight and the iRV is behind the TV in our normal viewing position, so we have to get up to change the volume.
Am I missing something with respect to controlling the iRV volume for the DVD with the TV remote? Is there some way to connect the two such that it works that way?

I don't have any "sure bet" ideas, but perhaps there is a setting somewhere in the TV menus that ensures that the TV speakers are off if the TV detects something hooked to the HDMI ARC input? I know there is on the TV in my unit. I set it so that the TV speakers are off when it detects something hooked to the HDMI ARC input and it works fine. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly what happens when I play a DVD. I fiddled with it earlier this year just to make sure the system worked, but I rarely use it when camping.

Thanks. I'll check that.
We rarely use the TV and only used the DVD player because we got the entire boxed set of Downton Abbey as a "gift" for donating to our local PBS station. We've never seen any of it and are reserving it for rainy days in the trailer. It might take a few years.
