Jensen TV to Jensen AWM970 stereo

I am wanting to play my music channels from Dish network on my Jensen TV thru my ceiling/outdoor speakers using my Jensen AWM970 stereo. Is this possible. Thanks in advance. Steve A. Dagro

Check to see if you have a cable that runs from your tv to Jensen system. If there is none, plug cable in tv that is marked aux speaker and plug opposite end into the Jensen system marked speaker in. Hope this helps.

I have yellow and red wires running from bottom of TV as well as rear of TV. I assume one is going to outside connection location and the other set goes to Stereo? Is there a certain mode the TV must be in? That's what I can not understand. Another post said AV! mode. But when you change modes I didn't think you could get to your channels. Am I correct? Thanks for the reply. Steve A. Dagro

Those are the RCA cables for the DVD player on the Jensen system.

That Jensen stereo system has only analog audio inputs (red & white RCA plugs). Your TV probably has this same red/white pair. Just connect those up.

If you don't want to have your TV on: I'm going to guess that you have a Vip 211k receiver. Note that there are red/white audio outputs on the back of that receiver as well. You could connect those to the stereo.

Steve

Actually have the 311/322 which is the dual receiver. It is located in living room. Tried putting stereo in aux mode and nothing. May see of there is an aux. speaker port on TV and plug into Aux on front of stereo.

That Sat receiver also has the RCA audio outputs. I suggest that you not assume that there are wires connected to those Aux-inputs on the Jensen stereo unless you've put them there.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to take the stereo out of the hole. Any pointers??

There is a frame that surrounds the stereo that simply snaps in place. Remove frame and 4 screws hold the stereo to the cabinet.

Thanks. I assume there is an audio out port on tv and this need to plug into back of stereo? Satellite receiver is in other room.

Back to square one. Removed the stereo and there is a wiring harness/ several pigtails that comes out the back with no empty jacks. If this is going to work it has to be some settings that have to be changed. Try contacting the RVDirect guy from Jensen and haven't heard back from him yet. Thanks for all the suggestions. Steve

I think if you switch your audio out on your tv from internal to external speakers it should work. Your audio out should already be hooked up (mine was from factory). Then you select aux or a/v, can't remember which. I think this is what I had to do to get regular tv to play through speakers.

Not sure if I have same set-up as you.I have tried going thru the tv menu and re-setting the audio and it will not let me highlight audio. There is no external speaker outlet on the tv either. May have to just use Pandora on my iphone and plug into auxiliary jack in stereo. Thanks y'all for all of the replies. Steve

My Jensen TV has audio out RCA jacks that are connected to my Jensen 970 stereo rear aux inputs. I'll double check the steps tonight and let you know.

Exactly what mine has...and they are all connected. You have to remember, I cook for a living, so while I think I know a bit of electronics, everyday I learn that I really don't.

Here's what works on my outfit. TV speaker OFF. Stereo to Aux. Your tv volume control will control output volume, so make sure it's turned up. I'm including pics of back of TV, menu on TV, and stereo settings. Aux 1 is rear stereo input, aux 2 is front side 1/8" plug input.

On mine the tv audio out is connected to the aux 1 in on the Jensen AWM970. Then the outside speakers are connected to Speaker C.

Exactly like mine. The key to getting the outside speakers to work with TV is to turn off TV speakers in the TV audio menu, otherwise there's no output from TV. I was talking with the Jensen rep at the rally, and they are coming out with a new unit that will have HDMI and Bluetooth with Apple product support. He said should be should be out in 4-5 months.

BINGO!!! I've got it. All I had to do was swap audio jacks on the side of my TV. Thanks for all the patience and replies. Now on to other issues. WHEH!! Steve
