Kenwood Radio silencer?

Hi all, we have the Kenwood DNX775rvs. Anyone know how to turn off the persistent 'dings' that happen when the unit senses a road hazard or restriction? It goes off SO often when we really don't need it; I don't need to be told there's a 'sharp curve ahead' or that the main road has a weight limit for thru trucks.
I've turned off proximity alerts, experimented with turning off the voice guidance, turned the volume all the way down.... and none of it makes a difference.
I've read the manual front to back, and searched all of the settings several times now! What's the secret? It's driving us crazy!
