King Tailgater Dome Melt down

Hello From Arizona,
A couple of days ago while preparing for my vacation I attached my new dish Tailgater Pro to the roof of my Silverback. This thing has not been up for even 4 days. Today I noticed the dome has flattened out on the top. I know it is hot in Mesa but come on, not that hot. I know this is a relatively new design but I would hope it would hold up to a couple of days of 105 degree temps. We haven't even got started yet. I am a little disappointed to say the least. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? What happens when it really gets hot????
As always I appreciate any input. Cannot seem to get the pictures upright.

We have the new white plastic dome, so I am interested in what happened. We place it where we can get a good view south. We did notice that it is super "light" in weight.

p.s. the temp today was in the high 70s....

I am going to take it back tomorrow. I am hoping it gets replaced instead of wasting time sending it back for repairs.

Let us know! I might have to stick with a tried and true solid color

I realize that black trim and things looks good, but white is so much more practical. The side of my slide out is black and gets upwards of 140 degrees in direct sunlight the light gray next to it about 100, white wouldn't be much more than ambient. The heat off the electronics inside the doom has to also be a factor.

I am happy to report that I took the Tailgater back to CW this morning and without hesitation they exchanged it for a new unit. They were surprised to say the least.
Thanks for the responses

Now the question is, "will the new one do the same thing in the heat"?

So, how did the replacement dome hold up in the heat? I really want one of the opaque domes, but not if they can't handle 100+ temps.

Getting ready to head home tomorrow. The dome sat on my roof for the entire (hot) trip with no issues. Looks like it is going to be okay.

Tailgator Pro dome melted

Tailgator Pro dome melted when I had it in storage also.

We had our summer cover on when we put it in storage. We only stored it for a short time but it melted in the June heat in Las Vegas.

Net time I'm going to dismount it and put it in the hold.
Shame on them for making an all weather product so cheap.

To make matters worse King ( the Manf) sells a replacement for $80.00
I'm OK with that but to want to charge me $400.00 to Fedex overnight or $200 for 4 day service.
They market this as a tailgater product but have no customer service on the weekend when everyone is tailgating.

Go with Wingard products there sturdier and more reliable. They even have customer service on the weekend.

Perhaps they had a bad batch? I have had my opaque King Tailgater for well over a year and used it in many 100+ days in NM and AZ. Have had no problems even when stored in a very hot closed up RV that sits out in the open.
I do like the opaque version much better than the solid white. I can tell at a glance if the power connection is good (lights on the circuit board) and that the dish is moving. No more guessing
I would buy it again.
