Magic Chef Ref 12V

We just purchased a 24 Flagstaff 27FBIK. Our first trip was fine but during the second trip we noticed that the refrigerator is not cold (around 60 degrees). Freezer is fine. We have done a hard reset, pulled the fuse, and now we are defrosting the freezer to see if that is the problem.

Any other suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

What settings do you have the freezer knob and push button control in refer section at? And how long was the unit at those settings?

Take the high road. It's usually less muddy.

We had them at 5 and changed it back to 3. That is why we are defrosting the freezer. We read that might be an issue.

Is your outside temperature on the second trip drastically higher?

The magic chef units seem to be very sensitive to ambient temps and ventilation in the cabinet it is in

You can look at this recent thread for more comments on this issue. The manual and FR say the settings of 5 indicate the max temp settings (lowest cold level). Others would say the convention is 5 is for the coldest setting, therefore Max output.

Moved thread from the General Tech and Repair section to the Appliances and Electronics sub-forum since the OP's questions are specific to Appliances and not general tech questions.
