M4 does not have the tuner as previously discussed. There is a "removal tool" that comes with the manuals. Looks like a metal wire shaped like a "U".

Antenna is small square with magnetic base. I routed wire out left door and in gap between fender and hood. I moved it far forward and stuck it to the front fender top, so it would be out from under the overhead bunk. Since it was black, I bought some white touch up paint that matched my cab and painted it. You can hardly see it.

The radio removes from the dash using two little U shaped tools that were included with the radio. Directions are in the instruction manual. Plug in the XM module (the one indicated above) and connect the antenna. Tuck module into the dash and slide radio back in.

To turn radio off, if in navigation mode, touch power button for one second. Radio will display (satellite or whatever you have selected) . Press and hold power button for four seconds and radio will go off. Simple press of power button will turn back on.

Class C Forester Speaker issues

When turning on the Mag4 on AV2, can get the surround speakers on, but the only two working are the ones above coach and above dinette. Other two above frig, sink and front door are not working.

Also, when hooking up our Direct TV, the picture on the screen is very fuzzy. It is on Channel 3,

Make sure when hooking up to directTV that you TURN OFF the antenna booster. Its a little black button near where the TV plugs in. Green light will be on. That green light should be off or that will interfere.

Does change the speaker selector dial change which speakers work? (Small dial says A-B-All)

Hey, just as a side note. I monitor the Class C Facebook Page, I monitor the forums, I answer all Private messages and my email. So when posting questions please pick one option as it's the same person answering all of them (Just to prevent me from duplicating efforts across all mediums). The nice thing about posting to the forum is that others might chime in if I can't get to it right away.

I have changed the speakers to just A, just B, or BOTH, and none of the settings turn on the speakers off the door side of the coach, (3 total)

OK, how about when the radio is on? Are all the speakers working then? I'm in Seattle training salespeople at a dealership. I can look at a unit Wednesday morning and see if I can recreated the issue.

My Magnadyne only "re-sets" or "re-boots" when the GPS map is displayed while driving. Map displayed while still - no "re-set" (I left it on displaying the map overnight to test this). Map not displayed while driving - no "re-set" (several day's use this way so far with no "re-set"). My current work-around (I believe Magnadyne is still trying to resolve this issue) is to use the Magnadyne entertainment functions (see my entertainment function "fixes" above) and use a Garmin Nuvi as my GPS. Good results used this way.

Radio on, all speakers in the back work except for above the door and refrigerator. Back side and one above TV works.
On AV2, TV speakers off, only back side works, none on the front still.

OK, I think I have this figured out.
Speaker Selector A (Speakers ON): Dash Right & Left. Rear Right & Left. (none of the driver side speakers will be on) See Picture
Speaker Selector B: Dash will be off. Front Right-Front Left-Rear right-Rear left will all be on. There is no "center" channel in stereo audio so this will never have audio. Having said that...on the radio screen, lower left side is the "field selector". If you select this you can turn on the center speaker I did not see if that actually produced audio in while in stereo or if this only comes on while you have a 5.1 signal.

No, I think off is off and ON is ON. That just happens to be the screen shot I took.

Look at it this way though...every other Class C it only takes about 60 seconds...because all it is is a radio.

This is "radio, iPod dock, weather station, DVD player, surround sound receiver, hands free bluetooth device, GPS navigator, photo player, awesomeness amplifier and babysitter"
(OK, I may have exaggerated the last 2)

You can still take 60 seconds and just learn the radio part and be just like everyone else...(VCR clock blinking) but now you know how to work all that other stuff.

Sometimes I don't even tell people that the TV can play through the surround speakers...it's tech overload for some people. The sales guys just stare at me blank faced. Which is why I posted the video. Thanks for watching...it's like Alice and the rabbit hole...how deep do you want to go?

As jamiller45 states to PM him if you are having problems with the M4 GPS cutting out. I did this and he sent me the contact info promptly. I then contacted Magnadyne via email and they phoned me immediately with the answer and solution. They stated that one of their three programming computers was missing a few lines of data. This explains why some are okay. They were sending me a SD card with the complete firmware fix and instructions.

I am very impressed with their extremely quick response and their professionalism.

Took my first trip with the Magnadyne in my new Solera. In three words, the Magnadyne sucks. I could explain the dozen things that are either broken, illogical or simply dysfunctional, but I won't bore you. So today I went to Car Toys (www.cartoys.com) to scope out my options. l will be replacing the Magnadyne with a top end Pioneer unit. I can't wait to get the Magnadyne out of my RV.

The learning curve on the Magnadyne is steep. It does lots of things. A few of them are done differently than some oem radios. I've been at it for 4 months now and am feeling pretty comfortable with it now. It is amazing how many features it has. Reading and rereading the manual has helped. I'm pleased with it overall.

M4-lcd

Don, I have amazed the Magnadyne reps recounting the issues with my M4. One tech told me he can't wait to get his hands on it to figure out what went wrong. Replacement radio comes in next week. I am no expert on these radios, but feel if I can get a working unit I will be happy with what it offers.
