Need tilt setting for satellite

We just arrived at the Outer Banks and set things up. I searched for the satellite settings at: Dish Pointer on Dtv site.

They give the elevation and azimuth settings but they no longer give the tilt. Today when I called Dtv to get the tilt setting, they said that it's now against their rules to take the boxes from the home and put them in an rv. He said it was an FCC policy, but that they have no way to police it. Reading between the lines it's against their policy, but they wink if you take the boxes with you. He said to contact a local installer to get the tilt. I haven't found one yet.

If anyone has another site that gives the tilt info for a specific zip code or knows the tilt setting for the Outer Banks let me know. I set at 70 degrees and we're getting all the channels, but a more specific tilt setting should improve the signal strength.

What directtv dish are you using?

Use the drop-down box for the satellites and the multi-lnb stuff is near the bottom of all the satellite listings.

It gives the skew(tilt). You may need to read the FAQ sections to see how they are figuring the skew as it may be different from what you are used to.

There are several phone apps that will do the same as well as let you use the camera on your phone to align with the satellites in the sky.

Have the slimline dish with the 5 LNB. It the latest system Dtv has with the SWM with a power inserter that sends 22 volts to the LNB. Checked out the site and it looks like the skew is 58.9 degrees. Thanks.

That's our fav campground. We missed staying there this year in lieu of PirateLand in Myrtle beach. We prefer Ocean Waves 'cause it's inexpensive and small. Just don't lay your mat down on their precious grass...*s

Ha already caught h from Carolyn for having the mat 3 feet off the the concrete. It didn't matter that it was covering mud. It set a "bad example and someone else might do the same thing on the grass". Some petty rules here, but overall it's the best deal in the OBX.
