No power to outlet for Microwave
Hey all-
Just bought a brand new 2020 Forest River Wildwood 247 BHXL Travel trailer. I got it home and parked in the driveway. I connected power from my shop via extension cord to the trailer. Everything in the trailer worked as advertised. (Lights, slideout, fridge, AC, Microwave, Stove, etc). After about 5 minutes, I noticed that the time on the microwave was blank. No power to microwave now! Its an above stove microwave so I took out the 4 screws and slid the microwave out and set it on the counter. I used my outlet tester to test the outlet. Shocker... No power to that outlet but all other outlets had power in the trailer. Plugged microwave into outlet in kitchen. Works fine. Checked breaker for microwave and it was not tripped. Cycled it a few times and still no power to that outlet. Not a big deal since we will probably not use microwave this summer but just annoying as it is brand new. HELP!

We don't use our bread box very often either.
Remove AC power from the camper (shore power), then pull that AC plug out and check the wire connections on the back side.

Shut off power, remove the outlet, and check that the wiring connections are proper and intact. RVs generally use cheap, quick connect outlets. Also inspect the wire connection at the circuit breaker, and that there is voltage at the output terminal on the breaker.

Good advice so far. Check the outlet for sure.
Is the outlet for the microwave in a slide?
If so, check the swing arm (or whatever wiring mount) they use under the slide to support the wiring. Many reports of issues with the mounting/arm breaking or being misrouted.
Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it?
Check for power coming OUT of the breaker and follow the circuitry to the outlet.
Oh... and welcome to the forum!
I see it is your 1st couple of posts.

It is not in a slide. I am planning on reading it out with a multimeter today after work. Starting at the breaker and working towards the outlet. I dont want to drop it off at the dealership cause itll sit for a month before they get to it. Its the microwave so its not that big of deal. Not a show stopper. Just annoying on a brand new trailer.

RV receptacles are the cheapest I’ve ever seen. They are VERY shallow and use insulation displacement connections (IDC). If they were not seated well at time of install, maybe one of the wires came loose.

Check your electric water heater
Some RV's have internal devices to keep Microwave from running same time as the water heater is operating (power overload) I found the same thing and powering off the water heater and I have not had any further issues. Hope this helps

Not usually... besides the OP said... "all other outlets work."

I've not personally seen one that shed the load between the microwave and the water heater but there are lots that shed the load between the fireplace and the microwave. Some have a switch near the microwave to select between the two (looks like a household light switch) Some do it automagically with a relay.
Regardless, it's a good suggestion for your 1st post and something the OP should check... Welcome!

Our FR 23MK has a switch located under Electric Fireplace/ entertainment center. One position for fire place and other position for microwave. (To many watts if both run at same time). Try looking for a switch.

I had that problem. The issue I my case was that wire in the bundle made contact with a tire when the slide came in. We wrapped the wire and reconfigured the bundle to stop the rub from re-occurring. BTW: we went almost a year using a short 12g appliance extension cord to a nearby outlet as a work around.

Electric power problem
I had a similar problem but tested all power outlets in the area to determine several in the area were out. Found a GFI plug in bath was in series and had gone bad. Replaced bad socket plug unit now all working again.
Good luck!

If you have a fireplace, there's a switch that will switch between the fireplace and the microwave. Ours is located in the cabinet just above the fireplace.

Hey All! Thanks for all the input! It happened to be a light switch on the wall that switches power between the fireplace and Microwave. Not labeled but it is now! Going out on our first trip ever in our new trailer today! Thanks again!

Glad it was figured out. It is LUDICROUS that they don’t label those switches. There’s probably one person a month on this forum who runs into this issue.
