We have a '17 GT5. I picked it up from storage yesterday, and it is currently in the driveway. I started up the Norcold 2118T (4-door) fridge last evening on shore power. This morning the freezer is 15 degrees, but the refrigerator section only 55. Any clues why one area works well and the other minimally?
Welcome to the forum from New Jersey, Your taking air temperature, It changes as soon as you open the door. Put a glass of water in the fridge overnight and check that temp, Also put something you can freeze in the freezer and put the thermometer between that for more accurate Temps.
After fighting with mine for 4 years I have determined like most Norcold 2118 owners that the units were poorly designed and almost all defective. I am preparing to take mine to JR Refrigeration and have it totally rebuilt with a 12 volt non propane system. This unit has been a disaster. Defective door and cooling system. Freezer has never been below 15 and fridge temp bounces between 34-50. The unit sucks up propane a d electricity. Never buy a coach with this unit.
It was absolutely fantastic. It took 3 hours and I was on the road. Just home from 3500 miles to Sedona, Canyon and Durango. The most amazing refrigerator I have ever seen in an Rv. Freezer stayed on 0 to -4 and main fridge at 34. It is so refreshing after the junk that Norcold called a refrigerator. Forest River should have done a recall and replaced all of that model. Everyone With that model had problems.
