Outside speaker issue

I am having an issue with my outside speakers. They are popping, buzzing and making high pitch noises. Almost like that alternator wine effect that you sometimes get with car radios. It is only the outside speakers and only when radio is off. When radio is on they are fine. Anyone else have this issue or ever heard of this? Did they maybe hook the speakers up incorrectly? Guess I will need to take it into the dealer. This on my brand new 292BHDS. Also, doesn't matter if it's on power or running off battery.

If the radio is off, and you still hear buzzing, my guess would be not the radio. Have you added anything, like fluorescent lighting? LED bulbs? If you have done anything, undo it. You may have created the problem, in which case it won't be a warranty issue, and you will be charged. Just a guess. You could also pull the radio, and unplug it, just a couple of connectors, and verify radio or not.

Nope. Haven't added anything. Just got the camper last weekend! The noise does go away after some time but as soon as the radio is turned on and then off it does it again. Like the radio isn't quite shutting off or something. Strange.

And it's not really buzzing, more like a pop and crackle type noise followed by a high pitch noise. The high pitch noise may last for a while or go away withing a few minutes.

That does sound strange. Especially since it only happens when the radio is turned off.
I would take it in to the dealer.

But to be serious, I agree, it's a dealer issue if you haven't modded. The radio is feeding back power when off. Might be as simple as a bad ground, but I would let them figure it out on their dime, especially if they are local.

Take it to the dealer if you have warranty. Sounds like a bad capacitor, they can sound like that when discharging. Shouldn't happen so I suspect something else in the radio setup has failed.

After our first trip this weekend I noticed that only one outside speaker was working. The non-working speaker is the one that pops and crackles with radio off. Needless to say we never shut off the radio while at the campground! lol We dropped the TT off to the dealer on our way home yesterday with a list of issues. Hopefully they will get er all buttoned up before our next trip in two weeks!
